Man swept away by river after bike mishap in southern India

A man riding a bike was tragically swept away after falling into the river in southern India’s Telangana.

The incident took place near the Kannaram stream in Hanumakonda on July 27.

Visuals showed after heavy rainfall, the road near the river was completely submerged in water, and the water flow was quite strong. A man was riding a bike along that road when he lost control due to the swift current, and both the man and bike plunged into the river. The strong current carried him away, and he was struggling to stay afloat. Instead of helping him, people around were busy recording videos of the incident on their phones and laughing.

According to reports, the man was identified as Mahender and was riding his bike along the Kannaram stream towards Kannaram village when he accidentally fell into the water and was subsequently washed away.

The police promptly arrived at the scene and provided assistance along with the fishermen present.
