The video captures a chilling moment as a massive avalanche begins to tumble down the mountainside. Initially appearing calm, the avalanche slowly starts to descend from higher altitudes. In a matter of moments, it picks up speed, rushing down with terrifying force. The dense, snow-like dust engulfs everything in its path, temporarily blocking visibility. Border security forces can be seen hastily retreating in fear, aware of the imminent danger posed by the approaching snow. Once the avalanche subsides, the area is left buried under a thick, icy cover, eventually clearing up.
Speaking to Newslions, DIG Srinagar confirmed that no casualties have been reported so far. However, rescue teams have been put on high alert as a precautionary measure.
