A man miraculously survives after jumping from the 13th floor of an under-construction building with the help of a safety net set up by the locals.

The incident took place in the Kannamwar Nagar area of Vikhroli, a suburb of Mumbai district, Maharashtra, India, on January 15.

Visuals depict a man clinging to safety nets on one of the floors as other laborers attempt to rescue him. However, he lets go of the net and falls onto another net below.

According to reports, the construction worker, identified as Birjuprasad Ramesh Banarwa, miraculously survived multiple suicide attempts without sustaining any injuries. The dramatic series of events unfolded at an under-construction building (Building 57) in Kannamwar Nagar, where Birju Prasad, reportedly under severe mental stress, tried to end his life. He is a resident of Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.

After jumping from the 13th floor, he landed on a safety net installed on the eighth floor, which broke his fall. Determined to end his life, he stood up and leaped again, this time landing on another safety net on the third floor. Remarkably, despite his repeated attempts, he remained unharmed.

By this time, a large crowd had gathered below. Demonstrating quick thinking and compassion, the locals stretched another net to catch him. Undeterred by their pleas, Birju Prasad attempted a third jump, but the bystanders managed to catch him safely in the net they were holding.

The collective efforts of the safety installations and the heroic actions of the locals ensured his life was saved. Following the rescue, police questioned him and discovered his mental distress. He was counseled and eventually sent back to his native village in Gorakhpur.
