The cat belongs to a family in the Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh, northern India.
Visuals shot on December 24 show the moment when the cat’s owner instructed her to open the main door. Without hesitation, the cat jumped onto the door grill, opened the door like any human would, then jumped down from the gate. Other visuals show the cat being pampered and caressed by family members, who shared their views on the cat and expressed the strong bond they share with her.
Speaking to Newslions, Bittu, Jack’s owner, explained that Jack behaves like a true member of the family. He shared that Jack adopted as a kitten from Bulandshahr, has been part of the Chauhan family for two years. While the couple has always loved pets, they never expected Jack to become such a household sensation. The family first discovered her remarkable talent one evening when they returned home late. Their son was fast asleep, and no amount of knocking could wake him. To their surprise, Jack opened the door and let them in. This wasn’t a one-off—Jack repeated the trick several times. Shabana filmed one of these moments and shared it on social media.
Shabana explained how Jack has grown into a loving and obedient member of the family, noting that Jack visibly shows distress whenever she leaves the house. The Chauhans, who have several other cats and often gift kittens to friends, describe Jack as truly one of a kind.
