A headmaster of a government school was caught red-handed in broad daylight stealing eggs meant for students’ midday meals, sparking widespread outrage and prompting an official investigation.

The incident occurred in Vaishali district, Bihar, northern India, and the video went viral on December 20.

Visuals show the headmaster placing eggs intended for the children’s mid-day meal into his bag in broad daylight.

According to reports, parents of the pupils at the school staged protests following the incident, demanding the headmaster’s dismissal. However, the headmaster, Suresh Sahni, denied the allegations, claiming he had not taken the eggs home but was merely handing them over to the school cook.

After the video spread widely on social media, the state education department launched an investigation. The inquiry revealed that the incident took place at a middle school in Rikhar village, Lalganj block, Vaishali. The education department has since issued a notice to the accused headmaster, questioning why a theft case should not be filed against him. The department also stated that his actions had tarnished its reputation.
