A daylight tiger sighting on railway tracks sparks fear in the local community, prompting forest officials to urge railway authorities to slow down trains along the forest stretch.

The incident took place near Makudi village in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district of Telangana, southern India on December 18.

Visuals show a man filming a tiger’s movements on the railway tracks using his mobile phone from a distance.

According to reports, forest officials have urged railway authorities to reduce the speed of trains operating along the forested stretch of the railway route near the Telangana-Maharashtra border. The footage caused a stir among residents in the vicinity of Makidi and Jakkapur villages along the inter-state border with Maharashtra. In response to the tiger sighting near Makudi village, the Forest Department has deployed drone-assisted surveillance across the forested region spanning the Telangana-Maharashtra border.
