Man wards off crocodile from dam walkway with simple stick

An 8-foot crocodile strayed onto a dam walkway in broad daylight, only to be driven away by a worker armed with a stick.

The incident took place at Sathanur dam in Tiruvannamalai of Tamil Nadu, southern India on December 17.

Visuals show a man fearlessly chasing away a crocodile using only a long stick. He remained remarkably calm while attempting to drive the reptile off the walkway.

According to reports, the crocodile had wandered onto the tourist path, reportedly after being swept in by recent floods. Following heavy rainfall in the region, nearly two lakh cusecs of excess water were released into the river. Dam authorities promptly alerted the public by sounding a siren. The crocodile is believed to have stayed on the walkway to bask in the sunlight.

The strong flow of water has become a significant attraction in the Sengam area since the floodwaters were released from the dam.
