Out-of-control truck slams into canteen, damaging vehicles and leaving several injured
A truck loaded with goods lost control and crashed into a roadside food canteen, causing damage to multiple vehicles and injuring several people.
The incident took place on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway near a food court in the Khopoli area of Raigad district, Maharashtra on December 7.
Visual shows significant activity on the road, with some people parking their vehicles while others are driving away. Suddenly, a speeding truck appears from behind. Upon noticing the approaching truck, a man attempts to run, but tragically, the truck runs him over before crashing into a shop.
According to police, the truck was en route from Pune to Mumbai when the driver lost control. The vehicle swerved off its path, colliding with several vehicles before fatally striking 19-year-old Indradev Paswan, a canteen employee. Paswan, originally from Bihar, had been working at the canteen. His untimely death has left his family and colleagues in deep grief.
The truck driver sustained injuries and is currently being treated at Khopoli Municipality Hospital. While authorities have launched an investigation, no arrests have been made yet. Police are reviewing the CCTV footage and other evidence to ascertain the precise cause of the accident.
