Splash of joy! Grandfather turns rainwaters into theme park-style ride for kids

The incident took place in Chennai, Tamil Nadu in southern India and the video went viral on December 3.
Visuals show children sitting in a lifeboat, while their grandfather rides a scooter, towing the boat with a rope through the rainwater that had flooded the entrance of the house. The kids are visibly excited, enjoying the unusual ride, as their grandfather happily makes the experience memorable for his grandkids.
According to reports, Chennai has been battling heavy rainfall and floods brought on by Cyclone Fengal. The cyclone’s remnants, which caused torrential rainfall across several districts, are expected to weaken by Tuesday, December 3, 2024. However, heavy rainfall is still expected in 15 districts across the state.
The weather system, moving westward slowly, has caused significant flooding in its wake. The Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, issued a yellow alert for the possibility of heavy rainfall, up to 11 cm, in several districts, including Nilgiris, Krishnagiri, Tiruppur, Erode, Theni, and Madurai on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
