Minority under threat! Monk’s arrest sparks outrage, protesting Hindus attacked in Bangladesh
A prominent Hindu monk and minority leader, Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, was arrested in Bangladesh, escalating tensions over minority rights in Bangladesh.
The arrest occurred at Dhaka Airport on November 25.
Visuals showed Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, a Hindu monk and minority leader, seated and urging Hindus to unite, keep the movement alive, and fight for their rights. Another set of visuals revealed him leading protests weeks before his detention, preaching and rallying for justice.
According to reports, Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, a prominent Hindu leader in Bangladesh, was arrested amidst rising tensions surrounding minority rights. This development followed demonstrations in Rangpur, about 300 km from Dhaka, where the Hindu community demanded stronger legal protections and a dedicated ministry for minority affairs.
The arrest coincides with a sedition case filed against Brahmachari earlier this month for his vocal opposition to violence against Hindus. ISKCON spokesperson Radharamn Das expressed concern, highlighting the lack of an official statement from Bangladeshi authorities and urging international attention. Reports suggest he has been taken to an undisclosed location.
