Tiger sightings spark panic among locals after road encounter in southern India

A migrating tiger has caused widespread panic in southern India’s Telangana as locals fear for their safety. Over the past few days, reports of tiger sightings and their movement through villages have alarmed residents, prompting forest authorities to issue warnings to stay vigilant.

The incident took place at Utnoor, which is part of Adilabad district on November 17.

Visuals showed a car traveling through Utnoor and encountering the big cat crossing the road. The frightened passengers captured a video of the tiger, which has since been shared widely, fueling concerns among the public.

This sighting follows an earlier event on Saturday when tiger footprints were discovered in the border areas. The discovery of the tracks has further heightened the sense of unease in the region, with many fearing the tiger may be getting closer to populated areas.

Local farmers and villagers have been urged by forest officials to remain on high alert as the tiger continues its journey through the area, particularly at night. The forest department has also taken precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the community while advising people to avoid venturing out after dark.

While the tiger’s migration has caused panic, forest officials are monitoring the situation closely and working to prevent any potential danger to residents. The authorities have reassured the public that efforts are underway to track and safely contain the tiger’s movements.
