Teen’s hair along with scalp ripped off in tragic Ferris wheel accident at fair in northern India
In a tragic incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a 14-year-old girl sustained critical injuries after her hair became entangled in a ferris wheel rod, resulting in her scalp being ripped off while on the ride.
The incident took place in Kannauj district on November 9.
Visuals showed the harrowing aftermath, showing the girl’s hair and scalp hanging from the ferris wheel rod as locals assisted her off the ride. Blood streamed down her head, and she appeared unsteady and traumatized.
According to reports, the girl, identified as Anuradha, daughter of Dharmendra Katheria, was on the ferris wheel with friends when her hair was caught by a rotating rod. The powerful motion of the ride tore her hair and scalp from her head, causing severe injuries. She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for initial care before being transferred to Lucknow’s PGI Hospital, where she remains in intensive care.
Following the incident, Anuradha’s mother lodged a police complaint, prompting an investigation. A case has been filed against the ferris wheel operator, who reportedly fled the scene after the accident. Authorities are actively searching for the operator to hold them accountable.
The fair, which spanned two days, featured various rides and stalls, drawing large crowds to the area.
