PNG pipeline explosion ignites fierce blaze sparking panic amongst locals in northern India

In a catastrophic incident in northern India’s Haryana, a PNG gas pipeline exploded during excavation, sparking a massive fire that sent thick black smoke billowing into the atmosphere.
The incident took place on Old GT Road in Palwal district on November 12.
Visuals showed the blazing fire erupting from the ruptured pipeline, with flames appearing intense and life-threatening. Firefighters were seen battling the inferno while distressed bystanders and locals watched, as traffic came to a standstill in the area.
According to reports, three nearby shops and a JCB machine involved in the excavation were engulfed in flames. One person tragically lost their life in the accident. Fire personnel arrived swiftly to control the blaze, ultimately extinguishing it after considerable effort. The explosion happened when a JCB machine struck the pipeline while conducting repairs on a water line, causing the PNG gas to leak and ignite.
