In a shocking daylight robbery, a Tanishq showroom just 200 meters from northern India’s Bihar DGP’s residence was targeted by armed robbers.
The incident took place at Tanishq jewelry showroom located near the residence of the Director General of Police (DGP) in Patna on November 9.
Visuals showed four masked robbers entered the showroom, posing as customers. CCTV footage reveals the men, some with handkerchiefs over their faces and others wearing helmets, brandishing firearms to intimidate customers and staff.
The robbers swiftly made off with gold jewelry and six mobile phones belonging to employees before fleeing the scene.
Patna police have registered a case and launched a thorough investigation using the CCTV footage to identify and trace the suspects.
According to reports connections to the crime have led investigators to Beur Jail. Late Saturday night, police conducted raids at the jail, interrogating several notorious criminals with suspected links to the heist. It is believed that a mastermind operating from Beur Jail may have orchestrated the robbery. Over the past six days, police have conducted raids across Patna and Vaishali, detaining 15 suspects for questioning.
This brazen act has raised concerns about organized crime operating from within jail walls, as well as the boldness of criminals who dared to strike so close to the residence of the state’s DGP.
