Woman miraculously rescued after hair gets stuck under moving lorry in southern India
In a terrifying accident, a woman from southern India’s Telangana narrowly escaped death after her hair got trapped under a moving lorry, causing her to be dragged along the road.
The incident took place near Singapur on the outskirts of Huzurabad, in Karimnagar district on November 11.
Visuals showed the woman trapped beneath a lorry lying on the road, her hair caught in the vehicle’s rear wheel area. Local people surround the scene, attempting to free her, their faces a mix of concern and urgency. Some are bending down close to the ground, trying to take her out from the machinery, while others gesture to alert the driver. In the background, traffic slows, and a few vehicles pause as onlookers watch the rescue effort unfold. The lorry driver, realizing the situation, stands nearby, anxious yet ready to assist in any way possible.
According to witnesses, she fell off the two-wheeler onto the road. Before she could recover, a passing lorry drove over part of her hair, which became entangled in a rod near the vehicle’s rear wheel.
The driver, unaware of her situation, continued moving forward slightly, dragging Divyasree along the road. Her desperate cries, along with those of nearby locals, caught the driver’s attention, prompting him to stop the vehicle just in time to prevent further injury. Coincidentally, Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar happened to be passing by with his convoy and immediately stopped to assist. Acting quickly, he directed locals to bring a screw jack and scissors from a nearby lorry, enabling them to carefully free her hair from the vehicle.
Though she sustained a few injuries from the ordeal, Divyasree was safely taken to a private hospital in Karimnagar for further treatment. Local residents have commended Bandi Sanjay Kumar for his swift and decisive action, which helped avert a tragic outcome.
