Leopard attacks forest officials during rescue operation in northern India
In a dramatic turn of events in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh a leopard attacked three forest department officials attempting to rescue it.
The incident took place at Dharmanagari, which is located within the jurisdiction of Kotwali City Police Station in Bijnor district and the video went viral on November 9.
Visuals showed as the forest officials carefully approached the leopard to place it in their van, the animal suddenly lashed out, catching them off guard. The team, equipped with safety gear and a tranquilizer, had just managed to secure the leopard when it sprang up in a defensive attack.
According to reports upon arrival, the forest officials prepared for the rescue, but the leopard, likely feeling threatened, launched an aggressive attack.
Following the incident, local residents have expressed concerns over the presence of wild animals close to their homes.
