Baby elephant blocks bus in playful encounter on road in southern India

In a rare and endearing encounter, a baby elephant playfully blocked a KSRTC bus in southern India’s Kerala.
The incident took place on Tirunelli Thet Road within the Tholpetti Wildlife Sanctuary in Wayanad district and the video went viral on November 8.
Visuals showed a baby elephant trying to stand in front of a moving KSRTC bus on the road. The footage, shot by passengers onboard, showed the baby elephant, fondly referred to as Kuttiyana, standing in front of the bus’s tire as if attempting to stop the vehicle in its tracks.
According to reports, the adorable cub displayed its curious nature, interacting with the bus before retreating momentarily, only to bravely jump in front of the bus again. Kuttiyana appeared eager to engage with the bus, prompting both laughter and concern from the passengers who witnessed the scene.
As the KSRTC bus moved forward, the cub can be seen running behind it, adding a playful element to the otherwise routine journey through the Tholpetti Wildlife Sanctuary.
The video has since garnered widespread attention online, with viewers captivated by the young elephant’s adventurous spirit and innocent curiosity.
