Vehicle carrying beer overturns, locals jump in to loot liquor in southern India

A truck carrying over 200 cases of beer overturned and locals seized the opportunity to swoop in and take away the liquor on offer, in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh.
This incident happened on the Bayyavaram National Highway in Kasimkota Mandal of Anakapalli district on June 6.
Visuals showed the locals jostling for the unbroken bottles of beer which had fallen off the truck after it overturned. The boxes laid in a heap and while some locals picked up these cartons and walked off, others scanned through to find undamaged bottles of beer and collected them. Shards of glass laid around the road from the broken bottles. There were quite a significant number of people who took away the ‘loot’ after the truck overturned.
According to a report, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle which then overturned, leading to this accident. The overturned truck caused disruption in traffic for a while.
