In a high-stakes encounter in Jammu and Kashmir, security forces blew up a residential building where militants were reportedly hiding.
The incident took place in Srinagar district on November 2.
Visuals showed fierce flames engulfing the building, with thick black smoke billowing into the sky.
According to reports, an encounter erupted in Srinagar’s Khanyar area on Saturday, following an early morning cordon and search operation launched by security forces. Gunfire soon echoed through the area as the operation intensified.
In a separate operation in Anantnag district, two militants were neutralized. Sources revealed that militants had been hiding in a residential building in Khanyar, located in downtown Srinagar.
In a statement, Jammu and Kashmir police confirmed that the search operation in Khanyar led to an exchange of fire and that police and security forces are actively monitoring the situation. Additional details are expected as the operation unfolds. This incident marks the third militant-related event in Kashmir since Friday evening. Just yesterday, two migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh were shot in Budgam; both survived and are currently receiving treatment at a Srinagar hospital for their injuries.
