In a shocking incident in central India’s Madhya Pradesh, doctors performed a life-saving surgery on a laborer after an iron rod pierced through his stomach when he fell from a roof at a railway station.

The incident took place at the JAH Trauma Center of Jaya Arogya Hospital in Gwalior district on October 29.

 

 

Visuals showed the urgent moments as the patient was rushed on a stretcher, writhing in extreme pain with a long iron rod protruding from his body just below the chest. The scene was tense, with fellow workers anxiously recounting how the laborer had fallen from a height, leading to this critical injury. Medical staff acted swiftly, employing a specialized cutting machine to carefully extract the rod, stabilizing the life-threatening condition of the injured worker.

 

 

Speaking to Newslions, Assistant Manager at Jaya Arogya Hospital, Mr. Balen Sharma, stated that fellow workers immediately rushed Jatav to the hospital. The accident triggered panic at the railway station, raising serious concerns about the safety protocols for workers engaged in high-risk tasks. Eyewitnesses and colleagues questioned the lack of safety equipment and supervision, prompting police to initiate a probe into the incident and assess potential lapses in safety measures.

 

During a visit to assess the laborer’s health, Dr. R.K.S. Dhakad, the Superintendent, praised the surgical team and ensured that the hospital management would provide all necessary medical facilities. Dr. Sudhir Saxena, the Joint Director and Superintendent, along with other medical professionals, were present to oversee the situation. Dr. Dhakad communicated with the patient’s family in the ICU, reassuring them of the hospital’s commitment to the patient’s treatment and directing regular updates on the laborer’s condition.

The patient is currently in stable condition, receiving intensive care and monitoring from the hospital staff and doctors.
