In a remarkable rescue operation in eastern India’s Odisha, officials saved ten individuals stranded by flash floods caused by Cyclone Dana.

The incident took place in Katha Sangada, located in the Remuna block of Balasore district on October 26.

Visuals showed rescuers navigating through the deluge on lifeboats, bringing life jackets to the marooned individuals before transporting them to safety. The area was completely inundated with torrential rains, creating a perilous situation for those trapped. The aftermath depicted extensive flooding, with rescue teams working diligently to assist those affected.

According to reports, the rescue teams began their operation around 12:30 PM, as a significant portion of Balasore district faced flooding due to heavy rainfall in the Similipal hills of the neighboring Mayurbhanj district, which caused water levels to rise in the Budhabalanga, Sono, and Kansabansa rivers.
