In a dramatic operation amid torrential rainfall, emergency teams in eastern India’s Odisha worked through the night to clear massive trees blocking critical roads.
The incident took place on the Cuttack-Paradeep road in Chandapur village in Nayagarh district on October 24.
Visuals showed teams from fire and emergency services struggling against rain and high winds as they cut through enormous tree trunks that had fallen due to Cyclone Dana, obstructing passage on major routes. Braving harsh weather, the personnel fought to restore accessibility, removing large debris from the road amidst ongoing rainfall.
According to reports, the Tirtol Fire Station team began the tree-cutting operation around 22:00 hrs. Cyclone Dana made landfall in eastern India, lashing areas with winds reaching 110 kmph between Bhitarkanika in Kendrapara district and Dhamra in Bhadrak. The powerful storm has caused significant disruption across the region.
