Panic unfolds as lion roams village streets in western India, retreats without harming cattle
In a startling incident in western India’s Gujarat, a lion prowled the streets in search of prey late at night, spreading panic among the animals in the village.
The incident took place in Raidi village of Amreli district on October 24.
Visuals showed the lion moving along the village streets while cattle rested nearby. Although the lion approached the cattle, one cowherd was seen standing close to it. In a surprising turn of events, the lion left without making a kill and moved away from the scene. The encounter was caught on camera, showing the tension as villagers witnessed the lion’s presence up close.
According to reports, the video from Raidi village has gone viral on social media, causing concern among the residents. The villagers have called on the forest department to take immediate action as lions frequently venture into the village, attacking livestock and putting the community on edge.
