According to reports, a tragic explosion from an oxygen cylinder in Bulandshahr resulted in the deaths of six people, including three generations of one family—a grandmother, mother, and daughter—when the blast caused the house to collapse.
Rukhsana, the wife of Riyazuddin, had just returned home from the hospital on Monday after being treated for health issues. Her family brought in an oxygen cylinder to help her breathe. While they were administering oxygen, a gas leak occurred, leading to a sudden explosion. The blast caused the ceiling of the house to collapse, trapping 18 individuals under the debris. Although a rescue team managed to save 10 people, five others died at the scene. Three more were hospitalized, but one later succumbed to their injuries during treatment, increasing the death toll to six. Two additional individuals remain in critical condition at a hospital in Delhi.
The victims of the explosion include Raju (Riyazuddin), aged 50; Rukhsana, aged 45; Salman, aged 16; Tamanna, aged 24; Hivja, aged 3; and Aas Mohammad, aged 26. The injured include Siraj (Sirajuddin), aged 30; Shahrukh, aged 28; and two others, with Shahrukh being referred to a hospital in Delhi for further treatment. Authorities have taken possession of the bodies for post-mortem examinations, and arrangements are being made for their burial.
