Villagers spot python in drain as it preys on jackal in central India

In a startling incident in central India’s Madhya Pradesh, villagers witnessed a python preying on a jackal in a drain, creating an atmosphere of fear in the community.

The incident took place in Bagana village of Dewas district on October 20.

Visuals showed the python coiled around the jackal in the drain, remaining still as it displayed its terrifying grip.

According to reports, villagers had been spotting the python for the past two to three days. After it captured the jackal, they alerted the forest department. However, by the time the team arrived to capture the python, it had already vanished. A villager mentioned that the python had previously preyed on another animal. Some villagers working in the fields informed the village watchman about the python, which held the jackal in its grip for approximately three hours before making its escape. Concerned villagers are now urging the forest department to apprehend the python.
