Visuals showed locals and firefighters working together to pump water from the submerged basement while holding onto their unexpected catch. Streets were filled with rushing floodwater, making it challenging for residents to maintain balance as they fished in the fast-moving current.

According to reports, in the middle of the chaos, Yelahanka locals were surprised to find a large fish in the flooded basement of Kendriya Vihar, where late President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam once resided. Many residents in the complex have put their homes up for sale due to the constant flooding issues.

The intense rainfall, brought on by a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, has paralyzed Bengaluru. On October 16-17, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow warning for the city and nearby districts like Ramanagara, Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan, and Kodagu.

The aftermath of the rains left Bengaluru in chaos, with streets turning into rivers and commuters facing significant disruptions. On October 15, heavy rains overwhelmed the city, and the following day, residents hurried to drain water from their homes and retrieve submerged vehicles. At Kendriya Vihar, residents also struggled with flooded basements, mobility restrictions, and power outages. As per reports, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) dispatched two tractors to assist in evacuating families, including the elderly, from the complex.
