Calf successfully rescued from large drain in central India

The incident took place in Shahdol district on October 20.
Visuals showed a young calf was stuck in a large drain, visibly frightened but unharmed. The rescue team arrived promptly and began by comforting the calf, gently patting it to calm its nerves. One team member offered the calf a couple of rotis, which it ate slowly, helping to ease its anxiety. After earning its trust, the team carefully tied a rope around the calf’s body, making sure it was secure. With coordinated effort, they slowly pulled the calf upward, inch by inch, lifting it out of the drain. The rescue ended successfully, saving the calf’s life.
The calf, struggling to escape, was trapped for some time before the Atal Kamadhenu Gausewa Sansthan was alerted.
The rescue mission, led by Gaurav Ralhi Mishra, founder of the organization, took place between 11:42 AM and 12:38 PM. His team worked swiftly and carefully to ensure the calf was brought out safely. Local residents watched in relief as the team navigated the challenges posed by the deep drain, eventually lifting the calf to safety.
Post-rescue, the calf appeared to be unharmed, and residents expressed their gratitude for the timely intervention. Mishra, known for his dedication to animal welfare, highlighted the importance of quick response to such incidents and encouraged the community to report similar situations immediately. Atal Kamadhenu Gausewa Sansthan has been actively involved in animal rescue and welfare efforts across Shahdol and neighboring areas.
