Tragedy unfolds as thieves deceive car owner, steal USD 2380 from vehicle in northern India

In a deceptive incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, thieves stole USD 2380 (₹2 lakh) from a car by tricking the owner into believing they were helping him with his vehicle.

The incident took place in Pratapgarh district on October 18.

Visuals showed the busy road, showing a car parked at the roadside while a man exited the vehicle. The thieves approached, appearing to offer assistance, but instead swiftly stole the money from the car and vanished.

According to reports, the victim, a petrol pump owner, was on his way to deposit the money in a bank when the scam occurred. Pratapgarh police official CO Nagar Shri Shivnarayan Vaish confirmed the incident and stated that the local police were investigating the matter after the victim reported the snatching near the Kotwali Nagar police station.
