Passenger bus falls into water filled pit in northern India

An out of control passenger bus falls into a water filled pit in northern India’s Bihar.

The incident took place in the Alouli police station area of Khagaria district on October 17.

Visuals showed an official trying to search for any individual that needed to be rescued from the bus while several locals crowded the incident spot.
According to reports, the bus had departed from the Khagaria bus stand that morning, transporting passengers to Alouli. Upon entering the Alouli police station area, the bus was traveling at a high speed when it suddenly lost control and fell into a roadside pit. Fortunately, the water level in the pit was low, which allowed all passengers to escape without injury. Although no one was hurt, both the driver and conductor fled the scene after the accident.
Alouli police station chief Satyendra Kumar confirmed that the passenger bus was on its way from Khagaria to Alouli when it became uncontrollable and fell into the pit. He stated that no passengers were harmed and that six individuals were successfully rescued with police assistance. However, the driver and conductor are still missing, and the police are currently focused on finding them and taking further action.
