In a shocking incident that unfolded during a birthday celebration in southern India’s Karnataka, realtor Syed Altaf Ahmed has been arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) after he discharged his licensed pistol into the air.

The incident took place at a scrap godown belonging to his friend in Bannerghatta, Bengaluru on September 22.

Visuals showed a group of friends gathered at a lively birthday celebration, with laughter and music filling the air. Suddenly, one man raised a licensed pistol and fired several rounds into the sky, creating chaos. The festive atmosphere shifted to shock as friends recorded the incident, capturing the reckless act on their phones.

Syed Altaf Ahmed, a resident of Bommanahalli, was apprehended following an investigation initiated by the police’s social media wing. The incident took place at a scrap godown belonging to Ahmed’s friend, where they were celebrating the birthday of another friend, Moin Khan. Witnesses reported that Ahmed fired six rounds into the air, creating a potentially dangerous situation.

The social media video, posted by a friend present at the party, caught the attention of law enforcement, leading them to take up a suo motu case. Officers from the CCB swiftly arrived at the scene, where they seized Ahmed’s pistol along with six rounds of ammunition. Authorities have indicated that they will recommend the cancellation of Ahmed’s firearm license due to this reckless behavior.

This incident raises significant concerns about firearm safety and the responsible use of licensed weapons, especially in public settings.
