Fearless man reaches hospital clutching Russell’s viper after being bitten in northern India

In a dramatic incident in northern India’s Bihar, a courageous man reached the hospital while holding a live Russell’s viper, one of the world’s deadliest snakes, even after being bitten.

The incident took place in Mirachak village of Bhagalpur district on October 15.

Visuals showed the man walking in pain but displaying remarkable bravery as he balanced himself while trying to remain conscious in the hospital corridor, holding the snake firmly by its neck. Hospital staff and other patients appeared worried and distressed as they witnessed the unusual sight. Moments later, the man collapsed in the hospital’s corridor, still clutching the snake, while staff rushed to his aid.

According to reports, the man, identified as Prakash Mandal, 48, was bitten by the venomous snake twice but managed to catch it. He arrived at Jawaharlal Medical College Hospital (Mayaganj Hospital) in Bhagalpur with his family, astonishing doctors, nurses, and patients alike. Even after being laid on a trolley, Prakash refused to release his grip on the snake. After receiving an injection, medical staff convinced his family to lock the snake in a sack. Authorities have since notified the forest department.
