Lightning strikes house amidst rainfall in western India, causes blackout and structural damage

In a dramatic incident in western India’s Gujarat, lightning struck a house in front of a hotel amidst heavy rainfall, plunging the entire area into darkness.

The incident took place in Kodinar town in Gir Somnath district on October 15.

Visuals showed the moment the lightning hit, causing lights to go out with a loud bang as cracks appeared in the building’s walls. A water tank burst shortly after, while the surrounding area remained engulfed in complete darkness and silence.

According to reports, several areas, including Una, Girgarhda, and Kodinar Panthak, experienced sudden weather changes, with lightning, thunder, and heavy rains affecting many villages. Streets in the residential areas of these villages, such as Paldi, Olwan, and Vansoj, were flooded due to the downpour, leaving large puddles in their wake.
