Demoiselle cranes fill the skies of northern India as they migrate from Mongolia

In a stunning spectacle in northern India’s Rajasthan, thousands of Demoiselle cranes filled the skies over Khichan village during their annual migration.

The incident took place in Khichan, located in Phalodi district, and the video went viral on October 10.

Visuals showed countless white cranes shining under the broad sunlight, creating a breathtaking view of the open field.

According to reports, the cranes, known for their remarkable wintering display, fly from their breeding grounds in Mongolia and Siberia to Khichan every year. They arrive in early August and stay until March, making the village a famous spot for bird watchers.

Khichan serves as a haven for these birds as they follow the Central Asian Flyway, one of the world’s major bird migration routes. The cranes usually avoid the Himalayan range, choosing to travel through the Hindu Kush Ranges and the Himalayan valleys instead, reaching India for a milder winter.
