Legendary industrialist Ratan Tata’s mortal remains escorted by police from hospital, nation mourns an irreplaceable loss

In a solemn event on Thursday morning, the body of legendary industrialist Ratan Tata was taken from his residence in a hearse adorned with white flowers to the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in south Mumbai. The hearse made its way from Tata’s home, located a few kilometers from the NCPA, where the mortal remains would be kept for public tributes.

Visuals showed Mumbai Police personnel and officials standing in respect outside Tata’s residence, with the police band playing a tune as a final mark of honor. As news of his passing spread, people from various walks of life gathered outside his house to pay homage.

According to reports, prominent figures like cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and industrialist Mukesh Ambani were among those who rushed to the hospital after hearing the news of Tata’s demise. His mortal remains were escorted from Breach Candy Hospital to his residence in Colaba early Thursday morning. The Maharashtra government declared a day of mourning, with flags flying at half-mast as a tribute to the industrialist. His final rites will take place in Worli later today.
