In a harrowing incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a truck driver was rescued after being trapped in the wreckage of his vehicle following a head-on collision with another truck.

The incident took place on the Varanasi-Shaktinagar road in the Bairpan area in Sonbhadra district on October 8.

Visuals showed the cabin of one truck severely damaged, with local residents gathering at the scene to assist in the rescue. The aftermath was chaotic, with locals expressing their shock as the driver remained stuck in the crushed cabin.According to reports, after hours of effort, the police, aided by community members, managed to extricate the driver safely. A crane was called in to move the truck and clear the roadway, allowing traffic to resume. The injured driver was transported to a hospital, where his condition is now stable. Authorities indicated that the collision was caused by the high speeds of the trucks and the narrow turns on the road. Residents frequently raise concerns about such accidents occurring in this area, citing reckless driving and dangerous road conditions. Fortunately, there were no significant casualties in this incident. Local community members have urged the administration to implement speed regulations and conduct regular monitoring to prevent future accidents.
