In an astonishing showcase of craftsmanship in southern India’s Telangana, a skilled weaver has created a saree made entirely of pure gold for a businessman’s daughter’s wedding.
The incident took place in Sircilla district on September 29.
Visuals showed the craftsman diligently working in the factory, transforming gold into fine threads and meticulously weaving them into an exquisite saree. The weavers were seen executing their tasks with precision, highlighting their exceptional skills in handloom weaving.
According to reports, the commission, placed six months ago, required meticulous attention to detail. Nalla Vijay, a talented weaver from Sircilla, was one of the artisans behind this creation.
Craftsman Vijay Kumar noted that converting gold into threads required surgical precision and took considerable time. After preparing the gold yarn, it took 10 to 12 days to weave the elaborate saree.
Measuring 49 inches wide and five and a half meters long, the saree weighs 800 to 900 grams and contains about 200 grams of pure gold, with an estimated cost of Rs 18 lakh.

Vijay Kumar expressed his pride, stating, “It is an honor to weave such a unique saree. Completing this project brings me immense joy and fulfills a dream reflecting my passion for this art.” The saree will be presented to the family on October 17.
