Son attacks father with brick in northern India: police launch hunt for accused

In a shocking incident in northern India’s Uttar Pradesh, a son brutally murdered his father by smashing his head with a brick after a heated argument. The accused fled the scene, and the police have launched a search to apprehend him.

The incident took place at Harkhapur village, which falls under the Pipraich police station jurisdiction in Gorakhpur district on September 25.

Visuals showed a father and son engaged in a heated argument just outside their home. Tensions flared as their voices grew louder, each trying to overpower the other with words. They stood face-to-face, emotions running high. Suddenly, the son, in a fit of anger, picked up a brick from the ground. Without hesitation, he lunged at his father, striking him brutally with the brick. The father’s expression shifted from anger to shock as the blow landed. All of this was captured on video by a neighbor, who recorded the entire confrontation from a distance, witnessing the tragic escalation.

In a tragic incident a son, Kanhaiya, allegedly killed his father, Satya Prakash Tiwari, by hitting him multiple times on the head with a brick. The incident occurred late on Wednesday night after the two had a dispute.

Kanhaiya, the son from Satya Prakash’s first marriage, had reportedly been pressuring his father to arrange his marriage. The father-son relationship had been strained for some time, largely due to Kanhaiya’s alcoholism. On the night of the incident, Kanhaiya came home intoxicated, leading to an argument. In a fit of rage, he attempted to hang himself, but his father intervened and brought him down. Despite this, the argument escalated, with Kanhaiya resorting to physical violence and attacking his father with a brick.

Neighbors, alarmed by the commotion, rushed to the scene, only to find Satya Prakash lying in a pool of blood while Kanhaiya had fled. The father was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.

Local villagers revealed that Satya Prakash had been living in the village temple for several days due to his son’s erratic behavior. The police have sent the body for post-mortem and are actively searching for the accused.

SP North, Jitendra Kumar Srivastava, stated that efforts are underway to arrest Kanhaiya and ensure justice is served.
