The incident took place near Picnic Point on Marol Road in Mumbai on September 25.
Visuals showed after continuous and heavy rainfall, a significant amount of water has accumulated beneath the tunnel, leading to severe waterlogging. The scene depicts a chaotic environment where people are struggling to navigate through the flooded area, often resorting to wading through murky water. Vehicles are stalled or partially submerged, their headlights flickering in the dim light.
According to reports the subway connecting Picnic Point on Marol Road to Aarey Milk Colony, located adjacent to the Metro 3 car depot, has been closed due to severe waterlogging. This closure has significantly disrupted traffic flow in the area, forcing commuters to seek alternative routes.
Authorities are currently assessing the situation to address the waterlogging and ensure the safety of travelers. Residents are advised to stay updated on road conditions and follow alternate pathways.
