Massive fire breaks out in fireworks warehouse in northern India

A massive blaze of fire broke out late at night in northern India’s Uttrakhand.

The incident took place in Transport Nagar of Dehradun city on September 24.

Visuals showed a massive blazer coming out of a building. According to reports, the fire quickly intensified due to fireworks exploding and shooting out of the warehouse, creating a chaotic scene. The loud explosions woke nearby residents, who promptly alerted the police. Responding swiftly, police and three fire brigade vehicles arrived to tackle the blaze and brought the flames under control in about two hours. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties, but the fire caused damage to the warehouse’s railings and shutters.

According to reports, it has since been revealed that the warehouse was illegal, and the police were unaware of its existence. Fire Officer Suresh Chandra suggested that a short circuit likely caused the fire, although investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause. Reports indicate that a businessman from Rajasthan had rented the warehouse. Additionally, two individuals from Bihar have been taken into custody in connection with the incident. The police continue to investigate the matter further.
