8-feet-long python spotted at councilor’s residence, later released into forest in central India

In a remarkable incident in central India’s Madhya Pradesh, a large python was captured at a councillor’s residence before being safely released in a forest.

The incident took place in Nepanagar town of Burhanpur district on September 23.

Visuals showed the snake catcher carefully retrieving the 8-feet-long python from the compound of the house, gently handling the snake on the road before securing it by its mouth. Accompanied by fellow team members, the snake catcher took the python to a nearby forest, where it was safely released into the wild.

According to reports, the python was first spotted in the compound of BJP councillor Meetharam’s house early in the morning, causing panic among the local residents. The snake catcher, Khem Singh Maharaj from Satpyari, arrived at the scene and successfully caught the python after an hour of effort. The snake was then transported to the Chandni forest area for a safe release.

Nepanagar, known for its large forest areas, frequently sees wildlife entering residential zones. Pythons and other wild animals are often sighted, but this latest encounter once again caused fear among the locals. Fortunately, the python was safely removed and returned to its natural habitat.
