Chaos erupts as speeding car collides with two people on bike in northern India

The incident took place in Roorkee city of Haridwar district on September 22.
Visuals showed a black SUV speeding before it collided head-on with a bike. The force of the crash sent two youths flying into a nearby drain. The scene quickly turned chaotic as locals gathered in large numbers, distressed and angered by the severity of the accident.
According to reports, after hitting the bike, the SUV sped away recklessly, eventually crashing into a nearby grocery store. Furious locals dragged the SUV riders from the vehicle and beat them severely. In their anger, they vandalized the car. Police arrived at the scene shortly after, rushing the injured bike rider to the hospital for treatment. Both the damaged vehicles were seized by the police, and a heavy security force was deployed in the area to prevent further unrest.
CO Roorkee Narendra Pant confirmed that both vehicles had been taken to Kotwali police station and assured the public that police forces were present to maintain order in the village.
