Wildlife triumph! Four reticulated giraffes successfully translocated to Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy

In a thrilling development at Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy, the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) Vet and Capture Team, in collaboration with Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club, has successfully translocated four reticulated giraffes this September.

Visuals showed the magnificent giraffes being released one by one from their transport carriage. As they stepped into their new habitat, they joyfully ran around in the open field, embodying the spirit of freedom under the supervision of officials.

This achievement reportedly marks the completion of a significant giraffe reintroduction program, which began with six giraffes from Lolomarik Ranch and now includes these four from Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, bringing the total to ten founding giraffes now residing in the Conservancy. The team expresses deep gratitude to KWS, Lolomarik Ranch, and Lewa Wildlife Conservancy for their invaluable support in this endeavor.

The return of these giraffes is expected to enrich the conservation education experiences of over 40,000 students who visit the Conservancy each year.
