Vande Bharat Express pilots clash over train operations in northern India, damage windows

The incident took place at Gangapur City station, which is located in the Kota railway division on September 2.
Visuals showed several loco pilots fighting like madmen to sit in the pilot’s seat of the train, creating complete chaos. They started breaking the train’s windows in their frenzy to force their way inside. The scene was chaotic, with shattered glass everywhere and the pilots scrambling to get control of the train, turning the area into a scene of confusion and disorder.
The newly inaugurated Vande Bharat Express running between Udaipur and Agra has once again been the center of a controversy over train operations. On September 2, a serious altercation occurred between train personnel from the Kota and Agra railway divisions at Gangapur station. The dispute escalated into a physical fight involving the driver, co-driver, and guard, with their uniforms being torn apart.
The fight led to the breaking of windows and doors in the train’s guard room, disrupting services and delays. This issue has reached the attention of the Railway Board, but no resolution has been reached as of yet. The train continues to experience delays during its journey to Agra and return trips.
Sources suggest that when a new train service begins, it often brings opportunities for working hours, promotions, and recruitment. When the train passes through multiple divisions, conflicts over operational responsibilities may arise, as seen in this case. The latest clash resulted in property damage and inconvenience to passengers, who were forced to endure delays.
The Vande Bharat Express starts from Udaipur, passes through the Ajmer and Kota divisions, and enters the Agra division. Both sides have filed complaints with the railway authorities and police, but the issue remains unresolved, continuing to affect operations and causing passenger discomfort.
