Wolf terror grips northern India: Search intensifies after deadly attacks on children

The incident took place in Bahraich district on September 6.
Visuals showed forest guards and trap teams moving cautiously through fields, some armed with rifles, others carrying sticks, as they scoured the area in search of the wolves. The tension in the air was palpable as teams combed through the terrain to prevent further attacks.
According to reports, the surge in wolf attacks has sparked fear across the region. A pack of wolves has been preying on small children, with the latest incident occurring on Sunday when they killed a toddler and injured two others in Bahraich, marking the third attack within 24 hours. So far, four wolves have been caught, while the search for two more continues.
CM Yogi Adityanath has directed the forest minister to increase the deployment of forest guards and trap teams in the affected areas. Unlike tigers or leopards, wolves are more difficult to identify due to their pack behavior, making their capture a significant challenge for authorities.
