In a heartwarming incident in eastern India’s Odisha, a baby elephant and its mother were successfully rescued from an irrigation canal.

The incident took place near Sapua Dam in Hindol district and the video went viral on August 31.

Visuals showed the baby elephant and its mother struggling to walk through a knee-deep submerged canal, desperately trying to escape.

According to reports, the rescue took place in the early hours of the day. The Hindol range team, in coordination with the irrigation department, conducted the rescue operation, ensuring the safety of the stranded elephants.
