Driver rescued after truck swept away in swollen river in western India

A truck attempting to cross a swollen river was swept away by powerful currents in western India’s Gujarat, prompting a dramatic rescue operation to save the driver.

 

The incident took place at Luni River, Nimbol Village, Raipur tehsil, Pali district on August 27.

Visuals showed after continuous rainfall, the river swelled to near-flood levels, with water reaching up to the road. As several trucks attempted to pass through, one of them lost balance and plunged into the river along with its driver. The scene was chaotic, with rushing waters and a sense of urgency as the truck was carried by the powerful currents.

 

According to reports, a truck was swept away while attempting to cross a swollen river, following days of continuous rainfall that had caused the water levels to rise dangerously. The river had swelled to near-flood levels, with water overflowing onto the road, making the crossing perilous. Amid these treacherous conditions, the truck lost balance and plunged into the river, taking the driver with it. Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, launching a rescue operation to save the driver from the fast-moving waters.
