Outlandish! Man dressed as God of death hosts long jump competition on pothole-ridden road in southern India

In a striking demonstration in southern India’s Karnataka, a man dressed as ‘Yamaraja,’ the God of Death, held a long jump competition on a pothole-ridden road to spotlight road safety issues.

The incident took place at Adi Udupi-Malpe road in Udupi district and the video went viral on August 28.

Visuals showed a road covered with potholes, with a man dressed as ‘Yamaraja’ in traditional attire measuring the long jumps of men dressed as ghosts. Assisting him in this inventive protest is another man dressed as ‘Chitragupta,’ the Hindu deity who records the deeds of the dead.

According to reports, the unusual stunt aimed to draw attention to the deteriorated state of the road, which serves as a key route connecting Udupi to Malpe Beach. The video gained widespread attention and went viral.
