Fierce agitation as protesters defy three-layer police security in central India
In a dramatic incident in central India’s Chhattisgarh, protesters defied a three-layer security setup by the police.
The incident took place in Kondagaon village of Bastar district on August 21.

Visuals captured the intensity of the standoff, with a fierce jostle between the police officers on duty and the determined agitators. The police had established security layers at three strategic locations to control the situation. However, the agitators breached these barriers, causing chaos at the collectorate and taking to the streets to block the wheel. Demonstrators also showcased their strength by organizing a large rally.

According to reports, the India bandh’s impact was felt across all seven districts of the tribal-dominated Bastar division. In Kondagaon, agitators went on a rampage to ensure the Bandh’s success. The bandh, called by tribal and SC communities, received additional support from the Bastar Chamber of Commerce.

A massive rally was organized in all seven districts from Wednesday morning, with the OBC United Front, along with tribal and SC communities, submitting a memorandum to the Bastar Commissioner in protest of the Supreme Court’s decision. The Sarv Adivasi Samaj and the SC-ST OBC United Morcha also took out a huge rally. After negotiations in the evening, the agitators ended their demonstration.
