Car swept away in Parvati river in northern India, driver missing
In a tragic incident in northern India’s Himachal Pradesh, a car plunged into the Parvati River, leaving the driver, Jafar Ali, missing.
The incident took place in the Manikaran Valley of the Kullu district on August 16.
Visuals showed the rapidly flowing water body with full force.
According to reports, the car fell into the river at Cheel Mod Charod Nala, known for its challenging terrain and fast-flowing water.
The police, led by SP Kullu Dr. Karthikeyan Gokulchandran, responded quickly to the accident report filed by Neetu, a local resident. Neetu had been traveling with friends on Chhamahan Road when he heard a loud explosion and saw the car crash into the river. Due to the high water levels, the vehicle was barely visible from the road.

Rescue efforts were launched immediately, with a crane deployed to retrieve the vehicle. However, the strong current swept the car away, complicating the rescue mission. The search operation for the missing driver will continue today along the riverbanks.
