Terrifying! Crocodile chases dog in a river, sparks panic in central India

In a terrifying incident in central India’s Madhya Pradesh, a crocodile was seen chasing a dog in a river, causing widespread panic among the locals.

The incident took place in Kopra river of Damoh district, and the video went viral on August 21.

Visuals showed the dog desperately trying to evade the crocodile in the river, as alarmed locals made frantic efforts to save the vulnerable animal. Later, the dog was seen successfully reaching the shore, saving its life.

According to reports, the increase in the number of crocodiles in the district’s rivers, including the Vyarama river, has heightened fears among residents, particularly following the heavy rainfall that has caused water levels to rise.

The continuous rainfall has led to swollen rivers and streams, resulting in a surge in crocodile sightings across the district. The situation has become so dire that locals have begun to avoid areas near rivers, with many capturing the terrifying scenes on video.
In response to the growing threat, Collector Sudhir Kochhar has issued an advisory, warning residents against taking any risks that could prove fatal. He specifically urged people to avoid bathing in rivers, ponds, or similar water bodies, especially as crocodiles have been spotted in the Kopra river.
